The Jewish Housewives CD

How it came about:
One day, Estee Stimler realized that there were no funny songs about womens issues for women. Deciding it was to be a fundraising effort for the Made in Heaven Shidduch Office, Estee started writing songs and everything just fell into place.

Yuval Havkin, who also arranged the music for the London Girls Choir Silver Lining CD did all the arrangements. All that was left were all the amazing women, who volunteered their time to go into the studio and record the Jewish Housewives songs.

The FABULOUS team that are Jewish Housewives:

Louise Leach; who sings ‘I Will Survive’ and ‘Chulent’ is a professional dancer and singer from London. She was chosen out of 20,000 contestants to be on the television show ‘Popstars’ and got through to the last ten contestants. She was then offered a major record deal which she subsequently gave up to become frum. She is now married and has two children, teaches hip hop and modern dance and is bringing out a Simcha dancing video soon!

Caroline Cohen: who sings ‘Shabbos Queen’ and ‘Shaming me softly’ is also a Balaas Teshuva who gave up a leading role in Les Miserables to become frum. She was a rising star on the west end stage; she was lead understudy for Elisa Doolitle in My Fair Lady. She has since made a career of singing to women only audiences. Whenever she is onstage she sings to packed houses and is planning a US tour as soon as her CD of original songs is ready.

Rebecca Goldberg: who sings ‘My Heels are High’ is a wonderfully talented singer and Jewish Housewife, in sunny London. She is an interior decorator and a fabulous party planner.

Terri Markowitz: who sings ‘Sheitel Macher’ and ‘Fix it Shaindy’ is a fabulously funny Doctors wife who with her cheery disposition in dreary London makes people smile wherever she goes.

Ayelet the Kosher Komic; who sings ‘Jewish Mothers Heart’ and ‘Bubbys Girl’ is an American Balaas Teshuva who is a professional comedienne. Prior to her foray into kosher comedy she has appeared on various tv shows and films and did standup comedy at various comedy clubs in NY. She is now doing totally kosher hysterical stand up and has a CD of her routine on sale, called ‘Kosher Komedy’ available in most Judaica stores.

Basya the Baalabusta; who sings ‘Stand By Your man’ and Shabbos Goi’ is also a Jewish Housewife who lives in London and would prefer to remain anonymous!

Marion Hermes; who sings ‘My Way’ and ‘Recipe’ is a professional comedienne and drama teacher from Manchester England. She appears annually in London’s showcase to a sold out audience of almost 1,000 women. She now has a one woman show in which she has created her own original characters.
