| Made
In Heaven primarily aims to |
| • |
Continue to supply high-quality,
personal ‘shiduch-making’ advice, services and
events (that were previously provided on an ad hoc basis) |
| • |
Empower facilitators and mentors |
| • |
Educate the community about singles issues |
As a secondary objective, Made in Heaven (MIH)
intends to establish itself as hub for and with other shiduch-making
teams/organisations to co-opt with others and join forces wherever
practical. MIH aspires to be a network for networks as well as
a direct ‘provider’ for shiduchim today.
The Made in Heaven name was chosen to reflect
the beliefs of the founders and team members. We humbly feel that
we are agents of Hashem and as such, do not seek credit for making
matches. MIH is equally satisfied when seeing a shidduch happen,
whether through playing a minor or major role. A sensitive and
practical mindset is utilised to look at every case as individual
and with potential for success. The ‘whose shidduch is it’
question is not a motivating factor. However we do have tremendous
running costs and we appreciate Hakaras Hatov in the form of donations.
How did it start?
In July 2004, Mrs Estee Stimler brought Mrs Beverly Gross of Monsey,
New York to London to introduce her organization called L’chaim
international to the UK market. Rebbetzin Joanne Dove arranged
the venue and Mrs Gross spoke to a packed audience of several
hundred women. Rebbetzin Dove and Mrs Rochelle Brenig, sensing
much community interest approached Mrs Stimler and so Made in
Heaven non profit Shidduch office was born.
